If you are a fan of The Smashing Pumpkins then you are going to just love this! (If you aren’t a Pumpkinhead then maybe you will be better off having a look at another post on this page instead… I realise they aren’t everyone’s cup of tea and I shall not be offended in the slightest.)
When they recorded their excellent, ‘Machina: The Machines of God’ album, they actually planned to create a whole animated series to accompany it. Unfortunately, mostly due to ongoing problems with their record company, the project was shelved indefinitely. The band split up (for a few years) afterwards and the animation was never seen by their fans. Until now…
Someone, somewhere managed to leak what appears to be the first three episodes of ‘Glass and The Machines of God’ onto YouTube! For anyone who likes the music of The Smashing Pumpkins, this really is a treat. There are several blatant influences behind the artwork in the animation, the most obvious of these being ‘Blade Runner’.
It is just a shame that only three parts of the serial are available for viewing. I suppose we should be grateful for any, but it would be wonderful to watch the whole thing. Perhaps, one day in the future, someone will manage to post all of the other episodes. And if we are really lucky then maybe Billy Corgan will decide to release the whole thing on DVD. That really would be a special disc to have in your collection!
Speaking of DVDs, I have just realized that I have been glaring at my computer screen for the last hour and am really tired of my Heroes Wallpaper, I think it is time for a revamp, these and more updates coming soon!
