Let them eat cake! (Fat Princess)
Everyone once in a while a game will come along that is pure fun and nothing else. These are games that can be enjoyed at any time and by anyone because they are such a good laugh. Fat Princess is definitely one of those games.
Available as a download from the PS3 Network, Fat Princess is a strategy game that places you on one of two opposing teams as you try to rescue your Princess (who can be fed cake to make it harder to lift her) from the other team’s castle in an odd twist on the capture the flag mode of gameplay often seen in other titles.
You can pick from a range of different classes, each with a secondary mode or a secondary weapon to use. Examples are the Ranger, the Worker, the Priest and the Mage. There is a small amount of customization that one can do, which is quite a bit of fun. You can change the eye colour, hair style and colour of your little character and the skin tone.
The graphics are fun and quite decent and the style/look of the game is great (very bright and cartoon-like). This is a game that appeals to gamers of all levels. The competition is there, as are a range of complex strategies if that is what you want out of a game and the mindless and stupid fun is also there for those wanting to take things a little more casually.
Fat Princess is a lot of fun, it looks great and there is plenty to keep you coming back for more (including unlockables). Even if you are unsure, for around $10 or eight pounds, this game will hardly break the bank.
Before I run, the val d isere ski bookings for our next New Years trip have been sorted out. I know that this seems really far off but next monday is the cut off for the overall cost, please get it to me when you have it.
