The Apprentice PC game- An interesting innovation?

The Apprentice is a very popular programme here in the UK. Last year we tuned in to see Yasmina Siadatan take the role of Sir Alan Sugar’s Apprentice 2010. This year the latest series of The Apprentice has been delayed due to the General Election, and that Alan Sugar is now Lord Sugar.

For all of us Apprentice fans, who need their Apprentice fix, there is a fabulous game which you can download from Yahoo Games (or other sites), The Apprentice Game. The trial is free, but you may need to buy the full version for $6.95 on Yahoo Games. Either way you get some good gameplay from it. Here you take on the role of one of Donald Trump’s (in The Apprentice USA) candidates and you battle to win the competition and become the apprentice. Make sure you win the tasks, or you run the risk of receiving the words “YOU’RE FIRED!”

This game is good, but the “tasks”are tedious. One of them is designing an ad campaign, what this means is solve a jigsaw of the billboard advert, and another, fixing products together, involve guiding pieces of a teddy or chocolate bar and joining the correct pieces together to form a sellable product.

The boardroom is tedious too. You select two of the CPU characters to take to the boardroom and solve anagrams of certain business-related terms to win and prevent being fired.

Overall, I would give this game 3 stars of 5. Despite it not being totally new and intersting it is addicitve and the fact that it is made from such a popular programme gives it an OK rating. Personally I would not buy the full game and would rather save my money for something a little bit more useful like running accessories, but a trial or free version is fine.
